About the author:

Born in 1954 in Zagreb. Graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Šime Perić. He was an assistant in the master workshop of Prof. Lj. Ivančić and N. Reiser. He works as a freelance artist and, in addition to painting, is engaged in book design and theatrical design. He has held more than 20 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. In 2003 and 2005, he participated in the 4th and 5th Interbalkan Symposium of Visual Arts on the island of Samothraki as a representative of Croatia.

Budor’s painting is characterized by intimate landscapes created through layered color gradations, almost monochromatic fields in which white appears as an emphasized exception, relief as well as a place for pure painterly gesture… His landscape is a space of abstract painterly activity as well as a spiritual, imagined, virtual one.
