Runtić Ingrid – Sanda

She was born in 1967 in Osijek but has lived in Zagreb since childhood. She graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts (ALU) in the class of Prof. Vasilij Josip Jordan and became a member of HDLU the same year. She went on a scholarship to the Vienna Academy, where she also completed her master’s degree. Until 2006, she lived in Vienna where she worked as a scenographer and painter in the painting workshops of the Austrian State Theatres, wrote prefaces, and held exhibitions. Today, she lives in Zagreb and leads painting seminars at private academies in Vienna, Graz, and Linz. She became more active in exhibitions after returning to Zagreb.

She represents figurative expressionism with unrestricted motif and morphological preoccupations. The strong energy of her handwriting is visible in clear, pure contrasting colors. Her attention is drawn to the southern Dalmatian landscape as well as everyday scenes from the city streets. She is an excellent sketch artist of the nude, free in her own depiction (self-nude), with as much pleasure as in mastering landscape forms.
