Sorola Staničić Melita – Poppies 23.V.,24.V.,25.V.,6.V.,27.V.,8.V.,29.V.

Born in 1964 in Rijeka, she graduated in 1990 from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Pedagogical Faculty in the same city. She is a member of HDLU Rijeka and HZSU, as well as a member of MAPA (Moving Academy for Performing Arts, Zagreb – Amsterdam) since 1995. She founded the Association of Young Artists Ura in Rijeka, and since 2006 she has been a postgraduate student in painting. She has held several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. Melita’s painting is classified as “color field” painting due to its meditative quality, restrained gesture, and use of monochromy. With her works, she approaches the formulation of basic natural forms on the earthly ground and in the depths of cosmic landscapes, portraying movement and transformation of forms as the fundamental fascination observed within a specific temporal continuity.
