Emilija Duparova – Night at Sea

Emilija Duparova was born in Split on October 11, 1967. She completed Secondary School of Fine Arts, Department of Decoration, in Split under Professor Gorki Žuvela. In 1986, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and in 1988 continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where she graduated in painting in 1991 under Professor Z. Kauzlarić Atač. Since 1996, she has lived in Rijeka, where she works as an assistant professor in the painting department at the Academy of Applied Arts. She is a member of the HDLU Splits, Zagreb, and Rijeka, as well as the art association LIKUM. In addition to painting and drawing, she engages in photography and video, spatial art interventions ranging from original art happenings, environments, and installations, to public spatial projects, events, and theater scenography. She has realized several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions both domestically and abroad.
