Kovač Koraljka – Blue I

Born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1971. Koraljka studied painting at the School of Applied Arts and Design and aftervvards in the Teaching Department of the Academy of Fine Arts, both in Zagreb. She graduated from the Academy in the class of Professor Zlatko Keser. She has been a member of the Croatian Association of Artists since 1998, and of the Croatian Freelance Artists’ Association since 2008. She used to be a member of Daklelososi group and Punkt association and participated in numerous art colonies and vvorkshops. Her work has been shown at thirty individual and fifty group exhibitions in Croatia, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Germany and South Africa since 1994. In 1996 she received the University of Zagreb Chancellor’s Award. She works as a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Textile Technology in Zagreb, the place where she both lives and creates her art. Her painterly explorations are related to the questioning of struetures and textures of the paint and the canvas and their mutual interactions, always openly approaching the canvas as the field of endless possibilities for probing and experimenting.
