About the author:
She was born in 1963 in Erdut, Croatia. She graduated in 1986 from the Graphic Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Frane Para. Since 1982, she has been successfully engaged in illustration and has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions.
She is the author of two picture books (both text and illustrations) and has illustrated more than twenty children’s books. Her illustrations are featured in about fifty textbooks, and she also illustrates poetry books and scientific publications. In 2016, she received the Grigor Vitez Award for children’s illustration. Her illustrations are published in the magazines Modra lasta, Smib, and Radost.
In addition to illustration, she works with glass sculpture, and her works are included in the publication “Glass in contemporary Croatian sculpture.” She lives and works in Zagreb as an independent artist.
She is recognizable for her refined drawing style of a distinctly poetic and fairy-tale character, where through color she emphasizes symbolism, leading us to the borders of the fantastic.
