Heckelmann Ernst – The White Mountain

He was born in Bavaria in 1948. From 1968 to 1974, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He participated in many recent exhibitions, and his work for the Bavarian State Opera in Munich is also of exceptional importance. His paintings are in many collections, and have been acquired for the Bavarian State Collection. He is the recipient of several scholarships (Munich, Stuttgart) and has stayed at the International Art Camp in Kuala Lumpur. He received an award from the city of Ebersberg for his work.

Since childhood, Heckelmann has been fascinated by landscapes. He quickly inscribes his ‘nature sketches’ onto the canvas surface with gestural strokes (often on atypical substrates), creating unique, timeless dimensions.
