Radovan Kunić – Before the Form

Radovan was born in Rijeka in 1987. After the secondary comprehensive school he enrolled in the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka, where he graduated in sculpture in the class of Professor ŽarkoViolić. During his studies he exhibited his works in joint student exhibitions, as well as several group exhibitions outside of the Academy, he participated in several art colonies and manifestations and won two awards for the conceptual design of the sculptural feature of the award (Sport PGŽ Award and Volunteer of the Year Award). Apart from sculpture, he has continually worked in painting, which became his major expression. At a fine arts event “Grisia”, he won a purchase award given by Rovinj Tourist Board and in 2013 another purchase award in a competition for young Croatian artists “Erste Fragments 9”, where he also exhibited his works in joint exhibitions. His first important exhibition was organised in Poola Gallery, in Pula in 2014. In that same year, he won first-place award at Istraart painting competition and a University of Trieste award in Ex tempore competition in Vodnjan. Radovan is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists in Rijeka. He lives in Matulji and works in “Dvorište” Atelier in Rijeka.
