Born in Maribor, Sloveniain 1958, Jože graduated in painting from thc Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana in 1984. He has been continually exhibiting in many group and individual shows in Slovenia and abroad. He has participated in numerous art colonies and received multiple avvards for his work. Apart from painting his artistic affinitics include drawing and graphics, and since 2000 the scope of his work vvidened to include the spatial dimension, in the form of sculpture-objects. He lives and works in Maribor. He has created a unique style based on lively colour and the application of non-painterly materials such as leather, metal, plastic, wood, or rather, the combination of everyday objects and organic materials, bringing them together in his work both morphologically and semiologically.
