Budor Robert – Sign of the Storm

Born in 1954 in Zagreb. Graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Šime Perić. He was an associate in the master workshop of Prof. Lj. Ivančić and N. Reiser. He works as a freelance artist and, in addition to painting, is engaged in book design and theater design. He has organized more than 20 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. In 2003 and 2005, he participated in the 4th and 5th Interbalkan Visual Arts Symposium on the island of Samothraki as a representative of Croatia.

Budor’s painting is characterized by an intimate landscape created through layered filtering of color, an almost monochromatic field where white appears as a pronounced exception, a relief but also a place of pure painterly gesture… His landscape is a space of abstract painterly activity but also a spiritual, imagined, virtual one.
