About the author:

Robert Almaši was born on 27.01.1948 (Moravske Kracany). He received his professional education at the School of Applied Arts in Brno from 1963 to 1967 under prof. D. Chatrny. Since 1968, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in the studios of prof. Cemickeha, Matejka, and assoc. prof. Gajdoš in the department of monumental painting. Besides painting, he is also engaged in graphics and music. He is the president of the Association of Fine Artists of Western Slovakia and the vice president of the Art Council of the Gallery of Contemporary Hungarian Artists in Dunajská Streda. Almaši is fascinated by the beauty of his country, its nature, and lives in the countryside surrounded by his own inspiration. Alongside the land, his permanent inspiration is the woman and people of his region, personified in paintings shaped by natural motifs. In 2004, he moved back to his native village, where he lives and works in his own studio – gallery.
