About the author:She was born in 1950 in Maribor, Slovenia. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana in 1976 in the class of Prof. Gabrijel Stupica (painting) and Prof. Franc Kokalj (stained glass). In 1979, she completed a specialist study in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana under Prof. Jože Ciuha and Prof. Marjan Tršar. She enriched her study travels across Asia, America, and Europe with a residency at the City Internationale des Arts in Paris. She is currently a full professor of painting design at the Faculty of Education, University of Maribor, and creates in her studio in Miklavž. She has received eight national awards, including the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award from the professional community. She has held over 90 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 200 group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad.
