About the author:She was born in 1950 in Maribor, Slovenia. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana in 1976 in the class of Prof. Gabrijel Stupica (painting) and Prof. Franc Kokalj (stained glass). In 1979, she completed a specialist study in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana under Prof. Jože Ciuha and Prof. Marjan Tršar. She completed her study travels through Asia, America, and Europe with a stay at the City Internationale des Arts in Paris. She is currently a full professor of painting design at the Faculty of Education at the University of Maribor, and creates in her studio in Miklavž. She has received eight state awards, including the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award from the profession. She has held more than 90 solo exhibitions and participated in over 200 group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad.
