About the author:
She was born in 1980 in Zagreb. She graduated in 1999 from the School of Applied Arts, and earned her degree from the teaching department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Miroslav Šutej.
She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. In a review of the exhibition by students from Šutej’s class at the Galženica gallery, Sandra Križić Boban noted: “Jelena Bračun, with a calligraphic approach, explores a line that currently directly associates her with the flow of life.”
Since 2001, she has been actively involved in experimental film. Her experimental animated film “Lifeline 2” was screened at the Croatian Contemporary Video Review 2003 in New York and at several film festivals. In 2004, she completed the film “There and Back Again” in co-production with the British Council and the French Institute.
She lives and works in Zagreb.
