About the author:
Born in 1954 in Zagreb. Graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of prof. Šime Perić. He was an associate in the master workshop of prof. Lj. Ivančić and N. Reiser. He works as a freelance artist and, besides painting, is involved in book design as well as theater design. He has organized more than 20 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions. In 2003 and 2005, he took part in the 4th and 5th Interbalkan Symposium of Visual Arts on the island of Samothraki as a representative of Croatia.
Budor’s painting is characterized by intimate landscapes created through layered siftings of color, almost monochromatic fields where white appears as an emphasized exception, a relief but also a place of pure painterly gesture… His landscape is a space of abstract painterly activity but also a spiritual, imagined, virtual one.
