About the author:
Born in 1954 in Zagreb. Graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, under the mentorship of Prof. Šime Perić. He was an associate in the master workshops of Prof. Lj. Ivančić and N. Reiser. He works as a freelance artist and, besides painting, is engaged in book design and theater design. He has held over 20 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. In 2003 and 2005, he represented Croatia at the 4th and 5th Interbalkan Symposium of Visual Arts on the island of Samothraki.
Budor’s painting is characterized by intimate landscapes created through layered color filtering, almost monochromatic fields where white appears as a pronounced exception, serving as both texture and the place of pure painterly gesture… His landscape is a space of abstract painterly activity as well as a spiritual, imaginative, and virtual one.
