Conestabo Piero – Mediterraneo

He was born in 1952 in Trieste, Italy. Initially, he studied industrial design and then at the Art Institute in Trieste. He perfected his skills in postgraduate studies of graphic techniques at the “Centro di Grafica Internazionale” in Venice. He is a member of the Roman Accademia Tibertina. He works in painting, graphics, photography, medal making, and posters. He owns the Conestabo Arte studio in Trieste, where he organizes and hosts exhibitions.

On his canvases, drawing rhythms of winding, spiral forms harmoniously merge with strong color contrasts and the black tone of tar. He is a painter of temperamental expression in the field of pure informal abstract language, which he builds using the technique of tar, pigment, and colored pencil. Instinctively reaching for organic materials, with a powerful stroke of seemingly lightweight construction of the pictorial field, he masterfully combines line and color, structure and symbol into a unified artistic organism.
