Dvornik Iris Bondora – Gathering

She was born in 1952 in Zagreb. She graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Nikola Raiser. She is a member of HDLU, LIKUM, and BBK (Association of Professional Artists of Bavaria). Since 1980, she has begun a successful exhibition career, presenting solo exhibitions in Poreč, Zagreb, many cities in Germany, London, Udine, and many group exhibitions. She stepped onto the art scene at the right moment, at the return to painting. From the beginning, inclined to personal iconography, she chooses the human figure as a permanent motif and metaphor, using a wide spectrum of visual techniques. Today, she paints with strong brushstrokes and newly acquired gesturality, turned towards a coloristically strong expressive palette and a disturbing composition with thick impasto but visible graphic elements.
