Dvornik Iris Bondora – Impression from the Mediterranean 1

She was born in 1952 in Zagreb. She graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Nikola Raiser. She is a member of HDLU, LIKUM, and BBK (Association of Professional Artists of Bavaria). Since 1980, she has begun a successful exhibiting career, presenting solo exhibitions in Poreč, Zagreb, many cities in Germany, London, Udine, and numerous group exhibitions. She stepped onto the art scene at the right moment, during the return to painting. From the beginning drawn to personal iconography, she chooses the human figure as a permanent motif and metaphor, using a wide range of visual techniques. Today, she paints with strong brushstrokes and newly acquired gesturality, focusing on a coloristically strong expressive palette and disturbing compositions, with a pasty application but visible graphic elements.
