Dvornik Iris Bondora – Impression from the Mediterranean 4

She was born in 1952 in Zagreb. She graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of Professor Nikola Raiser. She is a member of HDLU, LIKUM, and BBK (Association of Professional Artists of Bavaria). Since 1980, she has started a successful exhibiting career, presenting solo exhibitions in Poreč, Zagreb, many cities in Germany, London, Udine, and at numerous group exhibitions. She stepped onto the art scene at the right moment, during the return to painting. From the beginning, inclined toward personal iconography, she chooses the human figure as a permanent motif and metaphor, employing a wide range of artistic techniques. Today, she paints with strong brushstrokes and newly acquired gestural expression, focusing on a coloristically powerful expressive palette and a disturbing composition with thick layers of paint but visible graphic elements.
