Dvornik Iris Bondora – Impression from the Mediterranean 5

She was born in 1952 in Zagreb. She graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Nikola Rais. She is a member of HDLU, LIKUM, and BBK (Association of Professional Artists of Bavaria). Since 1980, she has begun a successful exhibition career, presenting solo exhibitions in Poreč, Zagreb, many cities in Germany, London, Udine, and in many group exhibitions. She stepped onto the art scene at the right time, during the return to painting. From the beginning, devoted to personal iconography, she chooses the human figure as a permanent motif and metaphor, employing a wide range of artistic techniques. Today, she paints with strong brushstrokes and newly acquired gestural expression, oriented towards a coloristically powerful expressive palette and disturbing compositions with thick impasto but visible graphic detail.
