Dvornik Iris Bondora – Shipyard

She was born in 1952 in Zagreb. She graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, in the class of Prof. Nikola Raiser. She is a member of HDLU, LIKUM, and BBK (Association of Professional Artists of Bavaria). Since 1980, she has begun a successful exhibiting career, presenting solo exhibitions in Poreč, Zagreb, many cities in Germany, London, Udine, as well as numerous group exhibitions. She stepped onto the art scene at the right moment, with the return to painting. From the beginning, devoted to a personal iconography, she chooses the human figure as a lasting motif and metaphor, utilizing a wide range of artistic techniques. Today she paints with strong brushstrokes and newly acquired gesturalism, turning to a coloristically strong expressive palette and disturbing composition with thick paint application but visible graphic elements.
