Emilija Duparova – Butterfly

Emilija Duparova was born in Split on October 11, 1967. She completed the High School of Fine Arts, department of decoration, in Split under professor Gorki Žuvela. In 1986, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and in 1988 continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where in 1991 she graduated in painting under professor Z. Kauzlarić Atač. Since 1996, she has lived in Rijeka, where she works as an assistant professor in the painting department at the Academy of Applied Arts. She is a member of the HDLU (Croatian Association of Artists) of Split, Zagreb, and Rijeka, as well as the art association LIKUM. Besides painting and drawing, she engages in photography and video, spatial artistic interventions, from authorial art happenings, ambient works, and installations to public spatial projects, events, and theater scenographies. To date, she has held several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
