About the author:
Emilija Duparova was born in Split on October 11, 1967. She completed the High School of Fine Arts, Department of Decoration, in Split under prof. Gorki Žuvela. In 1986, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and in 1988, she continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, where in 1991 she graduated in painting in the class of prof. Z. Kauzlarić Atač. Since 1996, she has resided in Rijeka, where she works as an associate professor at the Painting Department of the Academy of Applied Arts. She is a member of HDLU Split, Zagreb, and Rijeka, and the art association LIKUM. Alongside painting and drawing, she works with photography and video, spatial art interventions ranging from authorial art happenings, environments, and installations to public spatial projects, events, and theatrical scenography. To date, she has held several solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
