About the author:

Joško Eterović was born in 1943 in Split. He lived in Pučišća on the island of Brač. From 1957 to 1969, he lived in Rijeka (where he attended Sušak High School) and partly in Zagreb, and from 1969 to 1977 in Paris. Since 1977 he has lived and worked in Zagreb, Rijeka, and Paris. He began exhibiting solo in 1970, with his first exhibition held at the Galerie de Beaune in Paris. Since then, he has participated in about a hundred group and solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally. His works are held in numerous public and private collections. His artistic work developed through various phases and cycles. The complete oeuvre of Joško Eterović can be viewed in two segments: painting and sculpture, on the surface in painting, drawing, and collage, and in space in objects, installations, and sculptures. From his very first exhibitions, he revealed essential qualities of his art: geometric rigor, abstraction, and an inclination towards reductionism – qualities he continuously explored and never abandoned.
