Holasek Petra – Dieliebewillgeschenktwerden

She was born in 1964 in Graz. She holds a master’s degree in law. She lives and works in Graz (Austria). She acquired painting skills and experience alongside renowned painters with whom she socialized, and through whom her interest in painting developed and deepened. She traveled the world (Italy under the guidance of Brigitte Heiden, Greece in the company of Josef Schweikhardt and Herman Hemetek, Salzburg with Prof. Hermann Nitsch). Her painting evolved in stages, linked to the places where she lived: St. Paul de Vence, Nice, Kilimanjaro, North Africa, Rome, Paris, Miami, and New York. For her, her paintings are imprints of her inner impulses and insights.

In her most recent paintings, she embraces the poetry of Action Painting, emphasizing the significance of tactility, the physical touch with material, paint, and canvas. Through multi-layered application of paint, washing the upper layers with water so that the lower layers shine through, and direct imprinting of hand traces into layers of impasto, she achieves strong charge and expression.
