Born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1968. In 1991, after studying veterinary medicine, Irena enrols in the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb to study painting in the class of Professor Miroslav Šutej, as well as applied graphics with Professor Tišljar. She graduated under the supervision of Professor Rašić. She visited and explored many cultures around the world travclling through India, Nepal, Malaysia, Tibet, Indonesia, South America. Full of impressions and experiences, she transforms her feelings into images and verses. Her interests include graphic design, illustration, photography, making of the wheel of life, running of educational painting vvorkshops. She was a member of the first Croatian female alpinist expedition climbing Himalaya. She took part in many individual and group shows in Croatia and abroad. Irena is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists. She is currently a PhD student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana and she lives and works in both Croatia and Slovenia.
