Ivezić Nikolina – I’m Not Sexy for the Beach

About the author:
Born in 1970 in Zagreb, where she also completed the School of Applied Arts and Design. She then enrolled in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, graduating in 1998 in the class of Prof. E. Kokot. She has exhibited in about thirty solo and one hundred group exhibitions both domestically and internationally. She is the recipient of several awards, including the 1st prize of DAAK, Carlsberg. She engages in conceptual art, interior design, illustration, always with socially engaged themes – questioning and analyzing societal patterns, criticizing globalization, mass media, and commercialization of religion. She uses pop art and nudity to caricature society. She gained recognition for designing the spaces of the Zagreb Factory, Melina, and the café of the Faculty of Philosophy, and is known for her reliefs of women with large breasts made using the technique of colored layered styrofoam and thin metal plates. She is a member of HDLU and ZUH, living and working in Zagreb.
