About the author:
He was born in 1958 in Bratislava, Slovakia. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, and at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, where he obtained a degree as an academic painter in 1990. Since 1990, he has been teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, where since 1996 he has held the position of docent. In the period 1994-1995, he also taught at MKL Media Design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
He has participated in numerous significant exhibitions in Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, and the USA (New York). He has also presented numerous solo exhibitions in Slovakia and Austria (mainly in Vienna). His works are held in public gallery and museum collections in Bratislava, Vienna, and Munich. He is included as an artist in numerous professional art and encyclopedic publications. Today, he lives and works between Bratislava and Vienna.
He is considered a leading representative of geometric and abstract tendencies in Slovak visual art. About his work, critic V. Beskid writes: “Fekete does not paint pictures. He makes the picture.”
