Janko Petrović – Shell

Janko was born in Zagreb in 1983. He completed the secondary School of Applied Art and Design, Department of Display and Scenography, in Zagreb, and graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in the class of Professor Miro Vuce. Janko has exhibited in several group shows – the Triennial of Sculpture, Triennial of Medal-making and Plastic Arts, Zagreb Salon, Young Artists Salon, as well as in one individual show in Zagreb. He lives in Zagreb and teaches in the Department of Display and Scenography at the School of Applied Art and Design. Staying away from descriptive aspirations, he is not concerned with the recognition of the animalistic world. Rather, inspired by the harmony of natural organic forms, he observes and records the physiognomy and locations of those creatures to reduce them, by gradual abstracting, to a characteristic sign.
