Klaus was born in Wurzen, Germany, in 1959. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in East Berlin from 1981 to 1986. He has presented his works in numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad, including the Venetian Biennial, Sezon Museum of Art in Tokyo, exhibitions in Singapore, Hong Kong, New National Gallery in Berlin, MOMA in New York, Modern Poets: Collective Task, a travelling exhibition Berlin Art Scene, as well as exhibitions in Philadelphia, Washington, Contemporary Art Museum in Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Augsburg, KunstmuseumDieselkraftwerk in Cottbus. His works can be found in public collections in Berlin, Frankfurt, Dresden, Hannover, Leipzig and Numberg. As a studentship holder or an art project participant he stayed in France, Italy, Ireland, Japan and USA. His work is a mixture of different cultural, phenomenological and sociological influences, imbued with traces of literature, pop music, modem photography and modem painting. Klaus lives and works in Berlin.One of his many contributions to art is re-combination, freestyle collage – a combination of acrylic, collage paper and vinyl panes as an absolute joy that regenerates our common cultural history.
