Labaš Lucija – GECK 9euf

She was born in 1975 in Zagreb. She graduated in painting and earned her doctorate in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, completing postgraduate doctoral studies at the same Academy (“The Concept and Role of Texture in Painting: an overview of development and an attempt at a definition”). Since 2004, she has been working at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, currently as an assistant professor. Her artistic activities include painting, drawing, collage, photography, object art, artist’s books, and video, which she presents at prestigious video festivals and exhibitions such as the video work “Cyborg Dream” shown at the Pop Rally Abstract Currents event at the MOMA Museum in New York, the video work “Networking” featured in the selection of the international art video festival Cologne OFF X/10th Cologne International Videoart Festival Total Art in the One Minute Wonder category, shown in Cologne, Dusseldorf, Meghalaya/India, Cuzco/Peru, Miden/Greece. The video work “Wirsind Hunde” was included in the Art Film and Video Festival WOW.01 – The W:OW Art Film and Video Festival @ Video Vortex XI @ Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2016/2017 – at The New Museum of Networked Art, Kerala/INDIA… Since 2000, she has regularly exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad and has led several solo and group art projects. She has participated in professional artistic training and study trips in Cuba, Mauritius, and France. She is a member of HDLU and HULULK.
