Labaš Lucija – Turquoise Coral

She was born in 1975 in Zagreb. She graduated in painting and earned a doctorate in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, completing her postgraduate doctoral studies at the same Academy (“The Concept and Role of Texture on the Painting: presentation of development and an attempt at definition”). Since 2004, she has been working at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, currently serving as an assistant professor. Her artistic fields include painting, drawing, collage, photography, objects, artist’s books, and video, through which she has presented at prestigious video festivals and events such as the video work “Cyborg Dream” shown at the Pop Rally Abstract Currents event at the MoMA in New York, the video work “Networking” included in the selection of the international art video festival Cologne OFF X / 10th Cologne International Videoart Festival Total Art in the One Minute Wonder category, shown in Cologne, Düsseldorf, Meghalaya/India, Cuzco/Peru, Miden/Greece; and the video work “Wirsind Hunde” featured at the Art film and video festival WOW.01 – The W:OW Art Film and Video Festival @ Video Vortex XI @ Kochi Muziris Biennale 2016/2017 – at The New Museum of Networked Art, Kerala/INDIA, etc. Since 2000, she has regularly exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad and has led several solo and group art projects. She has participated in professional artistic training and study trips to Cuba, Mauritius, and France. She is a member of HDLU and HULULK.
