About the author:
She was born in 1967 in Port Louis, Mauritius. She completed art and design school (Epsom School of Art & Design) in Surrey, UK, then studied at L’Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués in Paris. She received the Juliet Gomperts Memorial Scholarship from London, followed by a scholarship that funded her study trip to Tuscany. Her passion then led her to Germany where she worked in the design studio Kunstflug focused on product design. During this time, she participated in art competitions, winning a first prize at one, which marked the beginning of her artistic career in Germany. In 1997, she moved into her own studio in Düsseldorf. To date, she has held around fifteen solo exhibitions and taken part in numerous group exhibitions in Germany, Mauritius, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Italy, France, Croatia, and the UK. She has won five awards, including one in Croatia (Riva Art, Fažana) and the most recent at the Contemporary Art Festival in France (Senlis). She lives and works in Hilden, Germany. Her art always carries a multiethnic and multicultural background, with an understanding and respect for her own national culture and tradition.
