About the author:She was born in 1966 in Klagenfurt, Austria. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (Akademie der Bildenden Künste) in Vienna in 1988, specializing in graphics in the class of Prof. M. Melcher. As a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Science and Technology, she also specialized in traditional Chinese calligraphy at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou, China, from 1988 to 1989. In the 1980s, she studied at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, earning a master’s degree in painting and graphics under Prof. G. Kettner, and then moved to Paris where she lived and worked until 1994, studying theater and dance at the École Supérieure du Spectacle. Her exhibition activity began in 1987 with her first exhibition in Trieste, Italy, and since then she has presented both solo and group exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Italy, China, and France. Her works are represented in galleries in Klagenfurt and Vienna and are part of collections of Austrian state and city institutions of the City of Vienna and the City of Klagenfurt. She was awarded a scholarship prize in 1987 and 1988, as well as two honorary awards for visual arts from the Carinthia region in 1993. She lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
