Kristina Mareković – Saxophone in Blue and Gold

Born in Sisak, Croatia in 1981. She completed the programme in painting at the School for Applied Arts in Zagreb. She worked in the department for wooden polychrome sculpture at the Croatian Restoration Institute betvveen the years 2000 and 2003. In 2003 she enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb from where she graduated in the class of Professor Duje Jurić in 2008. Kristina is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists and has so far exhibited her work at a dozen group shows and two individual exhibitions. She now lives and works in Sisak. Fragments, sounds, memories and transience represent the interpretational guidelines for her painting. The motifs of her gentle acrylics are those of musicians in acts of creation or fragmented musical instruments.
