Gala Maša – Memory Lane

About the author:She was born in 1985 in Kranj, Slovenia. She completed studies in painting, new media, and graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, which awarded her the Prešeren Award for painting as a student in 2010. She then studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Czech Republic, where she gained education in photography alongside painting. Despite her youth, she has presented solo exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad and has been awarded multiple times – in 2009, she won 1st prize at the 20th Colonies of Graduates at Ljubljana’s Academy of Fine Arts, the student Prešeren Award for painting, in 2010, 2nd prize for photography in Geneva, in 2011, the Primavera DLUM award, and the international “Premio de Marchi” award in Bologna, Italy. In her artistic work, she freely moves across different media from painting and graphics to photography, video, and conceptual art. She is a member of the art group 3kolektiv, ZDSLU, and DLU Maribor. She lives and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
