Miani Simone – Afternoon of a Robin
2017 / oil on canvas / 80×65 cm
About the author:Born in 1983 in Friuli (Cividale dei Friuli), Italy. Very young, at 15 years old, he joined the group of Udine artists “Sintetic Art” with whom he gained his first concrete artistic knowledge. Highly educated, he has no formal art education, but painting is his fundamental vocation in which he works and from which he earns a living. He actually describes himself as a painter, sculptor, and ecological artist. His painting is characterized as surrealism with clear elements of metaphysics. He exhibits in group exhibitions in Italy, presents at art fairs, and is the recipient of the “Palazo del Temporaneo” award in 2013. The human figure is the main subject of his paintings. It reflects human states, experiences, and perceptions as well as the search and discovery of our “Self” in the awareness of our own plurality. The chromatic harmony of complementary, warm-cold tones, the purity of the composition that suggests contemplation, and figures that, although without faces or heads, emanate a distinct personality, have established young Miani at the very top of Italian contemporary metaphysical painting. He lives and works in Cividale near Trieste.
