Modrić Igor – Garden of Delicate Grace

About the author:Igor Modrić was born in 1959 in Zagreb. In 1984, he graduated from the painting department of the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts in the class of Prof. Raul Goldoni. After completing his studies, he spent the next two years collaborating in the workshop of professors Ivančić and Reiser. Since 1996, he has been a professor at the School of Applied Arts in Zagreb. He has been exhibiting solo since 1983.

For him, the concept of abstraction “doesn’t hold water” because that material repertoire, as he says, somehow appears in everything. “I am interested in the material, the visible, and only then the derivatives that arise from it,” Modrić explains his painting interests.
