Otchyk Hleb – Rab Legends

Born in Gomel, Belarus, in 1983. After finishing the Secondary Arts School (Arts College), he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belarus (2001 – 2007) and then specialises in monumental decorative painting. Since 2007 he has been teaching at the State Arts College in Minsk, and since 2008 he has worked as a professor in the painting, drawing and sculpture studies at the Academy of Fine Arts. Hleb has been a member of the Association of Belarusian Painters since 2008. Since 1998 he has exhibited in numerous international, national and regional shows, as well as in two dozen arts symposia and colonies across Europe. His works can be found in several Belarusian museums and in private collections in Netherlands, Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Italy, Hungary and Croatia. He has received numerous awards for his artistic output, among which he singles out the special award given by the President of the Republic of Belarus, which he received in 1999. He lives and works in Minsk, Belarus.
