Pillemann Heike – Wheels on Rab

Born in Heme, Westphalia, in 1958. Betvveen 1977 and 1983 Heike studied at the State Academy of fine Arts in Stuttgart in the class of Professors Peter Gren, Rudolf Haegele and Poul-Uwe Dreyer. She has been teaching drawing at the German Master School of Fashion in Munich. In 1995 she received a scholarship for women artists’ higher education, and in 2010 an award from the Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts. She has cxhibited her work in many noted galleries in Gennany. She paints, draws and makes monotypes. She is a membcr of the Neue Gruppe in Munich, where she lives and works. Heike’s opus reflects the tradition of German expressionism, where the drawing is the main element of a rich narration. Her drawings are notes, her own visual diary entries, expressive and powerful gestures that cannot be containcd by the given form.
