About the author:
Robert Almaši was born on January 27, 1948 (Moravske Kracany). He received his professional education at the School of Applied Arts in Brno from 1963 to 1967, studying under prof. D. Chatrny. From 1968, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in the classes of prof. Cemickeha, Matejka, and doc. Gajdoš in the department of monumental painting. In addition to painting, he is engaged in graphics and music. He is the president of the Association of Fine Artists of Western Slovakia and vice president of the Artistic Council of the Gallery of Contemporary Hungarian Artists in Dunajská Streda. Almaši is fascinated by the beauty of his country, its nature, and lives in the countryside surrounded by his own inspiration. Alongside the land, his lasting inspiration is the woman and the people of his region, personified in paintings as forms of natural motifs. In 2004, he moved to his native village where he lives and works in his own studio-gallery.
