Runtić Ingrid – Pjaceta

She was born in 1967 in Osijek but has lived in Zagreb since childhood. She graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts in the class of prof. Vasilije Josip Jordan and has been a member of HDLU since the same year. She went on a scholarship to the Vienna Academy where she also completed her master’s degree. Until 2006, she lived in Vienna where she worked as a set designer and painter in the painting workshops of the Austrian State Theatres, wrote forewords, and held exhibitions. Today she lives in Zagreb, conducts painting seminars at private academies in Vienna, Graz, and Linz. She exhibits more intensively after returning to Zagreb.

She is a representative of figurative expressionism with unrestricted motif and morphological preoccupations. The strong energy of her handwriting is visible in clear, pure contrasting colors. Her attention is drawn to the South Dalmatian landscape as well as everyday scenes from city streets. She is an excellent drawing artist of the nude, free in her own depiction (self-nude), with pleasure equal to that found in mastering the forms of landscapes.
