About the author:
She was born in 1967 in Osijek but has lived in Zagreb since childhood. She graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts in the class of Prof. Vasilije Josip Jordan and has been a member of the Croatian Association of Artists (HDLU) since the same year. She went on a scholarship to the Vienna Academy, where she also earned her master’s degree. Until 2006, she lived in Vienna, working as a scenographer and painter in the workshop of the Austrian State Theatres, writing forewords, and organizing exhibitions. Today, she lives in Zagreb and conducts painting seminars at private academies in Vienna, Graz, and Linz. She has been exhibiting more intensively since returning to Zagreb.
She represents figurative expressionism with unrestricted thematic and morphological explorations. The strong energy of her handwriting is visible in clear, clean contrasting colors. Her attention is drawn to the southern Dalmatian landscape as well as everyday scenes from city streets. She is an excellent draughtswoman of the nude figure, free in her own depictions (self-nude), enjoying it as much as mastering the forms of the landscape.
