Šimek Diana – Lemon

Diana Šimek was born on July 16, 1980, in Zagreb. In 1998, she completed the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb, and in 2004, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, in the painting department under prof. Igor Rončević. Since 2005, she has been a member of the Croatian Association of Visual Artists. Since June 2007, she has been writing for “Olimp” – the magazine of the Croatian Olympic Committee. She lives and works in Zagreb.

So far, Diana has worked with painting as a medium, experimenting with different types of representation by exploring concepts in figurative-abstract depiction. She uses computer programs to create templates for her paintings. This year, she participated in significant exhibitions that presented eleven of our female visual artists in Berlin and Paris.
