Šimek Diana – Untitled 2

Diana Šimek was born on July 16, 1980, in Zagreb. In 1998, she graduated from the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb, and in 2004 she graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts, painting department, in the class of Professor Igor Rončević. Since 2005, she has been a member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists. Since June 2007, she has been writing for “Olimp” magazine of the Croatian Olympic Committee. She lives and works in Zagreb.

Until now, Diana has worked with painting as a medium, experimenting with different types of representation, exploring concepts in figurative-abstract depiction. She uses computer programs to obtain templates for her paintings. This year, she participated in significant exhibitions that featured eleven of our female visual artists in Berlin and Paris.
