Skopljak Ira – Through the Fog

Ira was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Heizegovina, in 1987. After completing her secondary education in textile design at the School of Applied Arts, she enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, in the teacher education programme in the class of Professor Radoslav Tadić. She has taken her Masters there as well, in restoration and conservation. In 2006, she attended a specialised mosaic school in Ravena, Italy. She regularly participates in exhibition shows in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and European countries, as well as in art colonies and workshops. She is acdve in organising various art projects that bring together different art-related skills. Ira represented Bosnia and Heizegovina at the Mediterranea Young Artists Biennale in Milan, the Young Artists Biennale of England, as well as at a group exhibition of drawings in Japan. She also frequendy participates in ‘Sarajevo VVinter’ (an intemational festival) and is a member of the art association M.L.A.Z and the Fine arts association of BiH. She lives in Sarajevo, where she works as a senior assistant lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts.
