Šuljak Mare – Lion

Born in 1983 in Dubrovnik. Graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, under the mentorship of Prof. Zlatko Keser. Studied abroad on an exchange program at the Academy in Katowice, Poland, as a Ceepus student. Has exhibited in several group exhibitions and two solo shows so far. Participant in various art workshops and colonies. Marino’s visual expression is not limited to the painted canvas. She also expresses herself through photography – digital print (the “Constellations” series). Her virtual spaces are often filled with mesh patterns and graphic elements into which objects borrowed from the outside world are incorporated. By multiplying them and playing with dimensions, she creates her own imaginary world as a product of enjoyment in play, continuous assembling, and exploration.
