Šumonja Bojan – Agave

He was born in Pula in 1960. He graduated from the secondary art school in Pula, and from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, sculpture department, in the class of Prof. Tramontina in 1984. Since 1987, he has been a member and founder of HDLU Istria, as well as of the multimedia center Fort Bourguignon. He is also the founder of the informal art group ARTSI. He has participated in many art colonies. He has exhibited at over two hundred group exhibitions and about seventy solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally. Prominent critics have written about his work, considering his oeuvre an important contribution to contemporary visual art. He is also a member of HZSU. Currently, he serves as the president of the Council for Visual Arts of Pula and the organizing committee of Artexchange, the Istrian art fair. He lives and works in Pula. His fascination with the “new image” has strongly and creatively enriched his entire artistic creation to this day. He studied intaglio printmaking technique in Milan and works in interior design. Already as a young artist, he won the prestigious award of the Pula Salon.
