About author:
Born in Wassenberg, Germany, in 1957. She studied art history in Bonn, Berlin and Koln, and painting with Heidi Schafer in Siegburg. Since 1988 she has chosen the making of Stone sculpture to be her principal vocation, attending courses with D Weber (Lascaux) and A Klauer-Simonis in Germany. She is a member of many art associations and institutions: BBK in Bonn, Women’s Museum in Bonn, Kunstvarein Rhein-Sieg, as well as a participant in art symposia and a founder of K and R (Kunstler in Rosrath).She has presented her work at numerous noted sculpture shows and revealed particular talent in ambient installation art. Her exhib-ition shows oftentimes carry powerful messages; they are committed, most often referring to women’s issues in the contemporary society. She has therefore worked on projects located in Palestine, North Iraq, South Korea and Sinai. She has held several scholarships (in Po-land and Italy) and received an art award from the city of Rosrath. She also paints and artistically expresses herself through installations and photography (of particular interest are those of natural forms created by the moving desert sand). She has an atelier in Technologie park – Bergish Gladbach.
